Rumors: GPT-5.6 and Gemini 3.5 Pro Delays as Markets Lose Faith

Mythos / Fable still haven’t become available , and on prediction markets the odds of a quick (by the end of this month or the next) relaunch are falling — people are losing faith.

Against this backdrop, 2 unconfirmed rumors appeared on Twitter:
— GPT-5.6 has been pushed to the middle of next month and won’t be released this week. But we haven’t heard anything official about the launch itself.
— Gemini 3.5 Pro has also been pushed back from June (supposedly they’re unhappy with the results), even though the company’s CEO personally said on stage that it would be announced “next month.”

As they say, the first ones aren’t releasing because they’re afraid of being blocked by the government, and the second ones are afraid they won’t be blocked

But in reality, I don’t think GPT-5.6 is being delayed for that reason (if it’s really being delayed at all). Most likely there’s no need to rush: competitors’ offerings haven’t changed (since Mythos / Fable are unavailable), so they can sit tight, do more training, and improve the model. Everyone who wanted to go to competitors has already gone.
