Lightpanda: A High-Performance Browser for AI Agents and Scraping
Wait, was that an option?: there is a browser for AI agents and web scraping that doesn't drag a full Chrome instance along with it.
While a standard headless Chrome still deploys a massive browser stack just for a page that no one will see, Lightpanda simply removes this layer.
It is written from scratch in Zig, is not a Chromium fork and, according to the authors, works 11 times faster and uses 9 times less memory than Chrome in headless mode.
