Anthropic's Claude Streaming Redesign: 4x Smoother, 9x Fewer Freezes
Anthropic has completely redesigned streaming output in Claude for web and desktop.
Long responses now display roughly 4 times more smoothly.
Instead of constantly redrawing the entire response, the interface only updates the part that actually changes.
On weaker laptops, this reduces the number of freezes by up to 9 times, and on a MacBook with a 120 Hz screen, Claude can maintain 120 frames per second throughout a long response.
In the demo, CPU load dropped from about 48% to 16%.
At the same time, the model itself hasn't started generating tokens faster. Anthropic simply radically sped up how the interface displays already-generated text.
