Fable 5 and Mythos 5 Disabled: US Export Controls Hit Claude Users

You wake up, open Claude, and Fable 5 no longer exists.

The US government, citing its national security authorities, issued an export control order requiring access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 to be suspended for any foreign nationals—both those located in the US and those outside it, including Anthropic employees who are not US citizens.

As a result, Anthropic had to urgently disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all users. Access to all other Claude models remains unchanged.

The company said it believes what happened was a misunderstanding and is already working to restore access as quickly as possible.

There’s also good news: the 5-hour and weekly request limits have been отменили for all users.
