DeepSeek Cuts API Prices on Weekends With All-Day Off-Peak Rates
DeepSeek is changing API prices again — now reduced rates will apply all day on weekends.
DeepSeek announced that from August 23 the pricing rules for peak and off-peak hours will be changed.
On Saturdays and Sundays, peak and off-peak periods are completely canceled, and a single rate at off-peak prices will apply throughout the day.
In other words, you will no longer have to adjust your API usage on weekends to off-peak hours. Tasks that consume many tokens, such as batch jobs, agents, or data generation, can simply be moved to the weekend and left running.
The new rules officially take effect at midnight on August 23, and costs incurred before that time will continue to be calculated under the old rules.
On weekdays, the division into peak and off-peak periods will remain in effect.
