It looks like the pressure from OpenAI is indeed very strong.

Today Anthropic are simultaneously resetting both the five-hour and the weekly limits. Which is extremely unusual for them.

The most likely reasons are Codex’s success, its rapid growth, and the repeated limit resets after the release of version 5.6 (including today — in honor of 9 million active Codex users).
